Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What kind of animals do you take in?

A: We accept most reptiles and amphibians.

Q: What do you specialize in?

A: We specialize in turtles and tortoises.

Q: Can those surrendering their animals remain anonymous?

A: You will need to sign a surrender form.  This is just to protect us as the animals new permanent home and caretaker.  Your information is kept      confidential to the extent of the law.

Q: What happens to the Turtle/Tortoise after it’s surrendered to you?

A: Once we receive a Turtle or Tortoise, it will live out the rest of it’s life on our ranch, unless it has been deemed necessary to adopt out (aquatic species).

Q: Do you purchase animals?

A: No, we do not purchase animals or pay “rehoming fees”, but we will gladly take them in if you can no longer care for them.

Q: Do you accept donations?

A: Absolutely!  We accept monetary donations as well as any supplies for our animals.  You can also check out other ways to support our cause by clicking on Support the Ranch.

Q: I found a Box Turtle, what do I do?

A: Please see our “Box Turtle” page under the “Turtle Info & Care” link for more information.

Q: Do you ever have Turtles for adoption?

A: On rare occasions, we take in aquatic species that we do not have room for and will adopt them out. There will be an application to fill out and a physical inspection of the enclosure.  We never adopt out Box Turtles or our Tortoises.

Q: Do you give tours of your facility?

A: Unfortunately we are not open to the public due to insurance reasons and also because the ranch is our private home.
